Transitions 2 (15 mins)

THE SESSION: Transition

Set Up: 12x16

One red and one blue player come onto the field

Part 1

The red player receives the ball with his back to the blue, he tries to turn and score in the opposite goal

Part 2

Roles reversed with the blue now going to receive from his team and the red player becoming the defender

Once both balls are done the next two players come onto the field

Key Messages:

Front foot receive if under pressure

Feel for defenders position

Once first ball is done turn aroud and receive the second ball away from the new defender

Transition 4 (15 mins)

THE SESSION: 1v1 Transition

Set Up: 12x16

Two goals back to back half way throught the area

The blue team start off opposite one goal and score in that goal

Once that players has score they must run around both goals to defend red team

Red players goes as soon as blue player strikes at goal

This continues in the same order

Two different teams, keep count of what team gets the most points

Key Messages:

Attack at pace

Use space to drive ball

Punish defender

Recover quickly

Progressions:

2v1

Which ever player shots or losses ball must defend opposite goal
