Description

Distance to perform skill- Players should ensure they are not too close to defender or too far away from the defedner when perfroming a skill.

Drive away- Once you've beaten the defender take a bigger touch in to space away from them.

Awareness- where the space is and waht kind of skill to use.

Technical (15 mins)

Organisation

3 or 4 channels with 4 players to each channel

Each group has a ball

20 yard channels

10 yards in will be Statue

Session Explanation

Groups of 2-3 players facing middle statue. First player in each line will have a ball. Player will dribble toward cone and perfrom the scissor. Both players will go at same time.

Progressions

Drag and push past the statue

L turn past the statue

Remove statue. Both players perform their skill in the middle facing each other. Distance from each other vital so players can perfrom skill.

Skill (20 mins)

Organisation

2 x 20 x 20 grids

Two gated goals

Split the group into teams of 3.

Session Explanation

Reds start with ball.They play ball to the Blue. On Blues first touch the red defedner can close them down.

Blues try to dribble through either one of the goals to get a point.

Swap defenders and attacker after 3 minutes has gone.

Progression

If player successfully performs a skill past opponent they get an extra point.

2 v 2- One of the attackers has to try to commit the defender to create space to score.

SSG (25 mins)

Organisation

Same size areas as previous drills

Pitch- 1- Two goals 3 v 3

Pitch 2- 4 goal game (coned goals)

1 ball on each pitch.

Session Explanation

Pitch 1- 3 v 3- Players number themselves 1,2,3- PLayers can only tackle corresponding number. Can only pass the ball backwards. Can dribble forwards. 10 minute game.

Pitch 2- Players play 3 v 3 and to score have to dribble through gates assigned diagonally opposite each other. Once you've scored in one gate you attack the other.

Progressions

Pitch 1- Players play 3 v 3 but must take atleast 4 touches before passing the ball.

Pitch 2- Can only score in goals adjacent to each other. Still dribbling through.
