Football/Soccer Session (Beginner): Red Light Green Light

Organization: Create a grid, approximately 25x25 (dependent on size of group). You can add gates around the grid as well.

For younger age groups (U4) have them start with a round cone in their hands; this will be their steering wheel. (Older age groups can start with a ball) 

Instruction: You can have the players pretend they are their favorite car from the movie "Cars"; or that they are fast race cars.

When coach says "Green light", they must drive their car around the grid, "Yellow light" they must drive slow, "Red light" they must use the bottom of their foot to stop the soccer ball. Continue to add new commands.

Honk your horn - 5 Toe Taps

U-Turn - Turn around and go the other way (teach them a turn; pull back turn, inside/outside cut)

Construction - foundation (inside taps)

Tunnel - pass your ball through a gate

Car accident - fall down, grabbing your ball (like a goalie would), then get up and keep dribbling

If the players started with a cone as a steering wheel, have them switch to a ball once you have gone through all the commands.
