Session Organisation
Play Area; 60yds x 75yds. 2 x 15yd x 15yd zoned areas either side, in advance of the penalty area.
3 manaqins + poles + cones and footballs.
Detail
GK rolls out to full back, he plays into zone player who then plays long diagonal into recieving player,.pass and follow. On recieving players 1st touch he runs at pace on goal creating 1 v 1 against G/K. he must only play on the recieving half of the field and is pursued by a defender on coaches call. Work both sides and then add progression; Rotational change, overlapping full-back, add a striker give and goes, 2v2; 2v3 etc.

Session Organisation
Half pitch with goals at each end, as illustrated. 16 players (incl. 2GK’s) organised 9v7, supply of balls by goal with GK. Practice starts with: GK rolling ball to either MF for attacking team.

Depth of D’s back line & position of screening player. D’s marking & covering positions. Speed & precision of counter-attack by D’s, breaking out into MF areas.
Concentration of A’s defenders to safeguard against possible counter-attack.

1. One touch play, short & long passes + rotational movement; O-R plays to Z-R he plays back to O-R he plays to Z-B he plays to Z-R he plays to O-B, repeat other way and continue.
Progression; O-R and Z-R rotate on Z-R pass-back he moves into zone and plays to Z-B, he plays back and the sequence continues with O-B and Z-B.
2. Long pass, control and set up play, manniquine introduced. 2 zonal players combine angles and distance then switch players.
3. Same as 2 but now introduce defender to zonal areas, creating a 2v1 zonal game.Outside players can switch with a zonal player. communication.
