Football/Soccer Session (Academy Sessions): Dribbling - Pressure from the side (turning)
Description
Why- To beat defenders coming from the side (going back).
What- Same as above.
When- When the defenders are to our side and we need to turn.
Where- Anywhere in the field, but most likely in the wings.
Who- For all players.

Technical (20 mins)
Organization:
As shown, adjust to players/level/age.
Instructions:
Players are to do a move by each cone. Doing a move at least twice before getting to the other end of the field. Doing it back again, twice before getting to the start.

Skill Development (30 mins)
Organization:
As shown. Have two gates, each with a different color. Make another field if needed depending on the amount of players.
Instructions:
One line is to dribble thru either gate (blue or yellow). The other line is defenders. 2 points if dribblers dribble thru the farthest gate and 1 point for the closes gate. Defenders get 1 point if they score on any of the two counter goals.
Coaching Points/Questions:
Look to trick the defender (stop-start), look at the body shape. Once the defender is beaten go to the gate, don't look to beat the defender again.

Organization:
Small sided game or big game at the end.

Race Game (10 mins)
Organization:

Instructions:
One line is to run thru either gate (blue or yellow). The other line is taggers. 2 points if runners run thru the closes gate and 1 point for the farthest gate. Taggers get 1 point for each tag.
No ball is needed.
2 min rounds. Switch.
Coaching Points/Questions:
Look to trick tagger (stop-start), look at the body shape. Once the tagger is beaten go to the gate, don't look to beat the tagger again.
Progress to running from the other side of the goals, it is a different angle of running.
