Channels Set up as shown
At least 4 players per channel
Instructions:
Channel 1:
Double Pass
-Player A begins with the ball
-Player B checks at an angle
-B has a look over their shoulder to see defender marking tightly
-B plays a one touch pass back to A, who can receive with one touch and play long to C (who has moved into passing lane) and then dribbles down to starting end
-A goes to B, B becomes defender, defender goes to C, and C becomes A
Channel 2:
Give and Go
-Player A takes a touch forward and sees pressure coming head on from defender
-Player B checks at an angle to create passing lane
-Once defender is committed, Player A passes to Player B with the outside of foot closest to B (right in above diagram)
-Player A then continues their run around defender to receive the return pass from B (one touch return ideal) and finds the target in a gate
Same rotation
Coaching Points:
Recognize what type of pressure defender applies
Double Pass
-defender pressures to cut off ball down the line
-immediately relieve pressure and open passing lane to target with return pass
-body positioned to protect ball
Give and Go
-defender pressures player with ball, drive at defender
-Player B support check is sideways, hips open to field
-solid return pass into A's path
Target moving into new passing lane
