Organization:
15x30 box, two groups on either end. Balls on one side.
Instructions:
Player passes to opponent then closes the space. Attacker tries to dribble to end line. Defender provides pressure but no challenging for ball. Use stopwatch to see who holds off attack the longest.
Coaching Points:
-Close space fast at first, then slow.
-Use side-on approach and side-on stance.
-Keep feet moving.
-Eyes on the ball, not the man.
Progressions:
Allow defenders to win the ball. If attacker crosses the line, 1 point. If defender wins possession he can dribble past opposite line for 1 point.

Coaching Points:
-Close space fast at first, then slow.
-Force attacker away from goal or to weaker foot.
-Keep your eyes on the ball, not the man.
-Challenge with confidence!
Progressions:
Vary goal position from left to right.

Organization:
25x40 field with 4 gates (5 yds wide) set up as shown. 4v4, no GKs, mini-goals. (Adjust field dimensions to play games with more or fewer players.)

Regular game EXCEPT: the ball cannot advance in any way (pass/dribble/shot) through either of the gates in your team's offensive half. If so it's out to touch to the other team.
Coaching Points:
-Steer midfield attackers wide with side-on stance.
-Use gates and sidelines to force turnovers.
Progressions:
Remove gates after 7-8 minutes for open play.
