Square Passing (Fitness) (10 mins)

Fitness (Pass and Sprint)

Players pass around the square but once they make a pass they sprint halfway to the next cone then back to their cone.

Progression: Players must follow their pass to the ext cone and then sprint back to their original cone (point is lost if they don't get back before the person who passes to them receives it

Throw Ins (10 mins)

Large Box - Half of the players outside the box with footballs, the other half inside without.

Players work inside the box for approximately 2 minutes before swapping.

Not all throw ins must be received directly in front of the thrower and at the same distance.

Change angles and distances.

Between passing back to outside player and the middle box during the first phase.

One touch returns to thrower.

Run into box.

Thrower passes back to player.

Reset

Try: Volly returns

1) Players outside the box throw the ball in like a normal game. Players have a maximum of 2 touches to control and pass the ball back to the thrower (who must control the ball like a normal game too, before picking it up). The inside player must then run into the middle box (with dynamic movements) before a change of pace before finding another player on the outside who is ready to throw the ball in.

2) Players inside the box have 1 touch to play a controlled pass back to the player on the outside.

3) Inside players must know control the ball and dribble through the box in the middle before passing to a free player on the outside of the box.

Attacker vs Defender (10 mins)

Organization: 30x40 split into 15x20

Instructions: 2v1, attacker heads over to defender after attempting to score a goal

Coaching Points: add a defender.

Progressions: Defenders, If they steal the ball, they're allow to score a goal as well

Run, past cone, cross to shooter.

Focus on hitting a moving ball, then do it under pressure

Start with no defenders

Then ask attackers to turn and chase attackers

Swith the side that ball is taken from

Play with no keeper at one end but smaller goals

Conditioned game (15 mins)

Organization:36x45

8x45 wide channels

20x45 central channel

Instructions:

4v4 + GK

2v2 inside central channel

1v1 inside wide channels

Players must stay inside their channels only

Players to combine and score.

Coaching Points:

receive on back foot

check your shoulder before receiving

weight accuracy and pace of the pass
