Organisation:
10 players (or manage numbers to suit), area size 30 x 26, mini goals off each end of area, end players always start practice with a square pass before playing forward, yellows keep possession end to end, blues press, if blue win ball try to score in either of mini goals (end yellow players can block and re start practice, yellows in middle area counter press to win ball back)
progress to yellows scoring in mini goals (see next diagram)
add touch restriction (1 and 2 touch)
Block Timings / Dimensions:
work in 90 sec blocks and rotate roles after each so all players play in all roles
Coaching Points:
• pictures - pass to most advanced MF player to play forward, pass to most advanced MF player to combine to play forward, pass to deepest MF player to play forward or combine to play forward
• Passing must be punched in with good weight and accuracy - front or back foot - why?
• Must pass same foot as received
• Open body and have a light touch to play forward
• Players MUST have movement before receiving the ball (match tempo) - timing and type (types of movement to receive - trigger to move?
• angles and distances of support - rotations
• recognise when to risk v when to retain?
• Good communication - why and how?
Coaching Responsibilities:
Lead Coach - to control the overall practice whilst giving coaching points to players using relevant interventions (1:1, small group or whole group), drive tempo and standards, manage timings, in possession focus
2nd Coach - out of possession focus, individual observations and feedback

progress to yellows scoring in mini goals (see previous diagram) - yellow play out to end players - MF runner breaks line to combine and score on 1 touch - 1 blue can recover from behind to defend the goal - 5 sec time limit to score once line break

Organisation; 2x groups - two balls at the top of the double diamond will start the passing pattern off. Balls will be moving around in set passing pattern to bring out 1/2 touch passing combinations. Pass and follow.
Change passing pattern to include 1 touch set back to play through (up - back - through) using middle players or side players
