Heath & Regents Session Plan

Session topic Playing out from the back/Receiving on the back foot.

Area A. Red Player makes pass 1 to Blue player, blue player receives with 'open body' position and plays pass 2 to second Red player. Blue player then sprints to cone C to receive again and play back to original Red Player. Rotate players at regular intervals.

Area B: Progression.

Red player passes to Blue player, if non passing red player stands still then Blue player does as per Area A. Receives and passes to second Red player. If second Red player closes Blue player as per diagram then 'decision' should be for blue player to pass back to original Red player.

Coaching points.

1. Receiving player must have open body shape to receive so as to see whole picture.

2. Correct decision making where and when to receive.

3. Awareness - Checking mirrors before receiving
