organization:
25'x25' area, (size of area may vary).
equipment needed:
Cones to mark the outside of your area.
3 different color pinnies.
soccer balls.
explanation:
- split the players up with 4 wide players & 3v3 in the middle.
- 10 players involved, rotate players in at your own accord.
- players start in this activity just keeping possession using the players on the outside to help maintain it.
- players wide can move to support play.
- one the players feel comfortable in possession, coach adds restrictions for intentional possession play.
1. to score points the ball has to go from one side to the other. 1 point for every successful switch.
2. combination passing to maintain possession.

Wide players must combine with team that has possession in the area to score, (Wide players can't pass the ball among themselves to score).
Coaching points:
Encourage defenders to press & stay compact to prevent the attackers from playing through.
Defensive players to mark & look to intercept in the lines.
Encourage high-tempo & the objective to move the ball quickly from side to side with combining in the area.
Play quickly, but calm.
Awareness of team shape to maintain possession & move the ball quickly

equipment needed:
8 cones, 2 soccer balls.
8 players involved, (number of players involved may vary).

divide players into 2 grids of 8
players in the middle of the area start with a ball each.
they pass a ball to the opposite side of one another.
once they pass to the outside, they must look to receive the other ball, turn & play again.
personal in the middle must switch balls each time.
players on the outside can move on the outside only to support play.
players in the middle switch after 2 minutes with someone on the outside.
key factors and progressions:
dispersal - control, first touch, away from pressure, weight of pass
long and short passing accuracy
scan before they receive - communication
decision making on the ball - appropriate skill in certain situations

topic: phases of the match - final third - final game (20 minutes) + cool down
organization:
3/4 pitch used above.
simulate realistic moments of the match.
equipment needed:
4 pop up goals, pinnies & soccer balls.
- teams work on their build up against pressing players.
- players may only play in the lines, press and intercept.
- ball gets played to the keeper from pressing players to start.
- building team works together to move the ball away from pressure to score in any of the pop up goals.
- pressing players press the ball as a defensive unit to create turnovers for a chance at goal.
key factors and progressions:
- passing -short passing, long passing, weight of pass, accuracy, timing
- mobility timing of movement
- field awareness - in relation to phase of field
- attacking - off the ball movements, support (through, around, angle) understand when/how/where
- defending - maintain defending structure - maintain team balance in pressure - composure
- principals of play - attacking (width, depth, team play) - defending - compact, shift, together, structure

- side shuffling, turn hips & accelerate through the third gate
- work against our momentum, start at the second gate, side shuffle to the first, then change of direction to acceleration
- start at first gate, backwards. Low, knee's bent, small steps, turn your hips & accelerate at second gate, through third gate
- working against your momentum, start at the second gate accelerate to the first gate, then turning our hips and accelerating through the third gate.
- jogging from the first gate to second gate, then opening up your stride & running past the third gate a bit and slowing down gradually.

- dynamic stretching done properly at an easy pace
- encourage team the importance of dynamic stretching
- match movements train the body for specific movements
- train properly to increase mobility and explosiveness
