Progression from the first passing rotation this one looks at using a ‘set’ and a run into the far corner as shown.
This is a practice which players will need a couple of minutes to work out but once this gets quick the play is nice and fast and it is a good passing rotation to use to relate to the game as it is quick and lots of movement which causes confusion but the players will get use to this.
If numbers are larger you can have this practice running side by side or if space is limited then it can be completed using the same area but bib two teams so players know who to pass to.

Description
Aim: This exercise is used to develop quick counter attacking with quick combination play and interchanging of position.

Passing Rotation
Description
Aim:- This is a passing rotation to warm the players up technically and to get the heart rate up.
Players will pass to the right and move to the left.
The coach will shout change direction and the players would then pass to the left and move to the right.
Technical
1. Quality of the pass
2. Where the pass should be to help play quickly
3. Speed of run away from the pass
4. Technique of the run away – Can the player face the game?
5. First touch – which part of the foot (back foot, front foot, sole roll)
Tactical
1. Relate this to playing in the Box formation and looking at passing one way and making the run to either create space as a dummy run or to get the ball back with a through ball.

1. Speed of movements
2. Changing of direction at speed (checking off the marker)
3. As a progression is to have the player ‘pin’ the defender and use core/upper body strength to protect the ball.
