Warm up (10 mins)

Organization:

20x20 square

5-6 triangle made of cones

Instructions:

6 players start out inside the traingles.

2 runners and 2 taggers

The players inside the triangles may not leave their triangle unless the runner on offense runs into their triangle. Once the runner runs into their triangle they must leave and are not being chased by the tagger. If a runner gets tagged by the tagger then they switch roles.

Encourage the runners to use moves and dodges to fake out the tagger.

Coaching Points:

Progressions/Regressions:

Add a soccer ball for each runner and player inside the triangle.

Add in Messi and Ronaldo touches.

Main Theme (15 mins)

Organization:

1.20 x 30 yard area set up as shown

2.10 players, set up as shown

3.1 ball per player

Instructions:

1.The group is split into two and then divided again into each corner

2.The cone at the center of the area represents a passive defender

3.Two players from the same group must run out into the middle, execute a move and finish in the opposite corner

4.As soon as the players are past the cone the next group sets off

Coaching Points:

1.Positive first touch to engage defender

2.Timing of execution

3.Sell the move by using the upper body

4.Movement of technique being taught

5.Cut into the space behind the defender ‘Close the door’

Progressions:

P – Remove the cone, players from one corner now pass the ball across to the opposite corner and jogs out to act as a passive defender

R – Go back to a static defender or cone

Main-Theme: I (15 mins)

Organization:

20 x 20 yard area set up as shown

13 players set up as shown

2 extra balls around the outside

Instructions:

-The activity starts with the fist player dribbling out an beating the passive defender

-Afte beating the defender the pass is played to the opposite side

-The defender joins the opposite line and the passer/dribbler comes back to become the defender

-The attacker that receives the ball now starts the rotatin again.

Coaching Points:

1) Fist touch-out of feet toengage th defender but not too far to lose the ball

2) Controlled approach

3) Perform move outside the defenders tackling radius

4) Move or technique being used

5) Quality of end pass

Deceptive Moves, Conditioned Game 20 Mins (20 mins)

Organization: 30x20 meter grid (2 of them if numbers permit. 4v4/5/5. 2 End Zones in each field.

Instructions: Points are scored by dribbling the ball into the respective End Zones.

Coaching Points:

1) Let them figure out the Messi/Ronaldo change.

2) If they don't, then try to illicit it.

3) As many touches as possible with messi dribbling, but still at pace.

4) Big explosive movement with Ronaldo dribble, head up now as more opportunity.

5) Avoid the defenders tackling radius.

6) Close the Door

7) Sell the Dummy
