Intro

Organization:

- Half players with ball and half with out

- 25x25 area with 5x5 area in the middle (yellow cones)

Instructions:

- Players with soccer balls dribble through the square before performing a takeover witha player without the ball.

- Everytime a player dribbles through the yellow square they get a point

- Revisit turns from the previous week

1) Pullback

2) Outside Hook

3) Inside Hook

Coaching Points:

- Small touches for close control, bigger touches to drive forward

- After changing direction do players explode into space.

Intro with defender

Organization:

- Half players with ball and half with out

- 25x25 area with 5x5 area in the middle (yellow cones)

- 2-3 defenders (adaptable)

Instructions:

- Players in red look to get through the yellow square without a blue defender touching their soccer ball

- Blue players don't steal the ball, they look to touch as many soccer balls as possible.

- Rotate every 45 seconds to minute.

Main Activity

Organization:

- 30x22 area

- Two teams

- Balls start with the attacking team (red)

Instructions:

- The player in red takes a touch into space triggering the blue defender to come out.

- The red player can choose to score either in the goal ahead or the goal to the side

- Defending player scores by dribbling out of bounds for 1 point or through the yellow gate for 2

Coaching Points:

- Change of speed

- Change of direction

- When to keep the ball close and when to take a bigger touch.

Instructions:

- The red team play with vs 1 blue defender

- The red players can choose to score either in the goal ahead or the goal to the side

- Defending player scores by dribbling out of bounds for 1 point or through the yellow gate for 2
