Game Situation

Description

This game situation is a variation of the four goal game but the attacking team have the big goal to score in. If a goal is scored through the little goals its worth 1 goal but if the goal is scored through the big goal it is worth 3 goals. This will start to give the players a responsibility of whether to score 1 goal or 3 looking at the ‘risk’ involved in each attack.

The lines on the pitch are there to represent how to make the pitch small and the challenges set for the attacking team are;

1. Try to cover all channels/areas of the pitch

2. Try to thing about your movement off the ball to move into each channel/area

3. Try to play quickly to work the ball through the channels/areas to create goal scoring opportunities

Learning Objectives

These are the same as the session and this will be used to determine if the players have developed in their understanding and technique of switch play to change the point of the attack.
