Modified Jail Game - Dribbling Emphasis

This was shown to us by Stuart Geiling, Blackburn FC

The set-up for this is the exact same in terms of dimensions as regular jail-game. Two players set off on the dribble with a ball each and attempt to get past the defender into the next grid, if they beat both players they go on an try and score. If they are stopped. they "go to jail."

Coaching Points:

Attack with speed

Be encouraged to take risks

Use body fakes to decieve the defenders

Big touches and little touches

Be clever and creative

For players U8-U10:

A great session would be:

Start with modified Jail - Agility (no ball) to work on fakes and body movements

Progress to one v one dribbling Jail

Progress to two v two dribbling Jail as shown

If group has prior knowledge, you can use this plan then build up into two or three teams possession where players gain extra points by dribbling through middle zone rather than passing through
