shot stopping drill (10 mins)

-player 1 moves to R cones.

-player 2 passes the ball to player 1.

-player 1 controls ball takes a touch to the right side of cone and shoots at goal.

-player 2 then moves R cones players 3 moves into green cones and passes to player 2 ect.

-Do 2 set of 4 then move on to L side.

-To progress it players will shoot from left side of cone both sides

-Coaching Points:

-Get behind the ball

- Fingers pointed down for basket catch, bringing ball up to chest with arms cupping the ball to the chest

-Contour catch, arms relaxed and fingers pointed up with thumb and index almost touching. Bringing the ball to the chest with arms cupping the ball

-Low dive, first touching the ball and landing on side. Lower arm is fully extended, and diving out at ball. Lower hand behind the ball, upper hand on top

- Mid-High dive, arms fully extended, bring ball to groung as ball touches ground first, dive out at ball

small sided games (10 mins)

Small Sided Game using 8 players max of 10

-Goalkeeper starts with ball and throws to att player 1

-Player 1 feeds the ball to att players who have to try and score if they score 1 point.

-GK/ DEF have stop the att team by saving/blocking any attems at goal if def team win ball back they ---have to shoot or throw into the small goals for 1 point.

-Notes player 1 can join in the attack after he feeds the ball in play.

-make sure Gk is keep busy.

-make sure the ball is moved around for more varied of shots at goal for the Gk.

-if not many chances at goal make it 2/3 touch for the att team or put on a extra att player.

-Progression

Coach or another player throws the ball into play from goalline to a att player after a break in play the Def/Gk can not touch the ball. the att player has 2sec to get the ball and get his shot away do 4 times --in last 5mins of game

-Coaching points

-make sure you watch the Gk not the game

-make sure Gk is keeped busy

-watch for Gk pos,hands feet

-make sure Gk communicate with his defenders ie tell them where they need to be ect

condition game (10 mins)

-Condition Game using up to 16 players 20mis

- Give any team the ball to get the game started

-Rules of game: defenders are not alowed to go over the halfway line that has been mark out

-Att players are not alowed to come back over the halfway line to help defs

- players 1 are feeders they can pass the ball and receive the ball from their team mates to help set up

goals ie one two pass from feeder to att player to help set up goal

-defenders can pass to feeder if pass is on

-The feeders can only move along the goal line

-Whoever scores more goals wins

- 1point per goal 2 points if defenders scores from halfway line

Note its a shooting game make sure both teams try and shoot as much as possible from all over the pitch if not bring in restrictions ie 2/3 touch

-Progression if the defending teams wins the ball back 1 defender can cross the halfway line and join in the attacking move making it 3v3 with feeders helping out 5v3.

-coaching points

-try not to watch the game you are there to coach the keeper

-make sure Gk is keeped busy

-watch for Gk pos,hands feet

-make sure Gk communicate with his defenders ie tell them where they need to be ect
