The area(1/4 of a pitch) will be dissected into 5 channels. In these channels there will be a 1 v 1 where as a defender you pass the ball into the attacker( both starting on the line) once the attacker gets the ball , its live. The attacker wont be allowed to be tackled to start just jockeyed all the way to the end , then swap roles
Progression
once players are comfortable with dribbling movement it will become a skill based practice meaning the defender will be allowed to tackle the oncoming dribbler
i will encourage a skill to use if i see a player excelling at purely taking the man on just dribbling.
Regression
If the partners are unfair then we can switch around and put players struggling v players struggling and same for the players succeeding
Aim and objective of drill
To become better taking players on, getting comfortable to take your man on and exploit space in behind.
Coaching points
keep the close
use a quick change of pace
use feints and fakes

5 aside pitch area size , This small sided game is a 5 v 5 but you have to dribble into zone to score a point , you can only dribble the ball into end zone if everyone on your team has touched the ball
Progressions
we can progress that instead of end zones being the goals to score a goal you need to dribble into the end zone where its a 1 v 1 , only 1 defender can come in, and you can shoot into a mini goal
Regression
Not everyone on the ball needs to touch the ball
Coaching points
Time your dribble carefully
Know when to pass
