Screen 1 (15 mins)

Conditioning:

  • Players split into 4 groups as equal as possible with a Goalkeeper in both goals who start with the ball. The goalkeeper will serve the ball to the attacker as soon as he is ready to receive the ball. No one moves until the coaches whistle. Players not "in action" on court will perform a series of tasks such as Push Ups, Sit Ups, Wall Sits, Planks. They can't move until it is their turn to go.
  • 1 and 4 will be attacking, 2 and 3 will be defending. 1 v 2, 3 v 4 in a 1 v 1 duel in both half of the court.
  • Corner 1 player must sprint out to the cones and zig zag through while simultaneously the Corner 2 player will sprint to the opposite end of the court before turning back and engaging in the 1 v 1 duel as high as possible.
  • Corner 4 player must sprint out as fast as he can to the hurdles before jumping with two feet over each hurdle and gets ready to receive the ball while the Corner 3 player also sprints to the opposite end of the court before turning and engaging with the attacker as high as possible.
  • All players will then sprint back to their start positions when their ball has gone out of play. They will then "tig" the next player who is now released to stand up. The rest of the players will carry on with their tasks. The next 1 v 1 duel begins on the coaches whistle. The sets will last for 6 minutes in total. Players may change their "off court" task if they wish but they must never stop. Anyone who stops adds 30 seconds onto the duration of this part of the session. Once the player has tagged the next player they must walk to the next station and begin their "off court" task.
2 sets of 6 minutes to be completed.

Screen 2 (15 mins)

Conditioning:

  • Players split into 2 groups with a pivot in the middle of the court at both ends of the court, a goalkeeper in both goals and a target player at the opposite end from the starting position.
  • At group one the player makes a sprint to the opposite end of the court, receives a pass from his teammate and turns and dribbles with the ball to the halfway line before continuing with his sprint to his start position. He then turns again and picks the ball back up from the halfway line before playing a pass into the pivot, and looking to move into a position to shoot.
  • At group 2 the starting player sprints up the court before playing a one-two with the target player. The target player then dribbles through the cones before playing a long pass into the pivot who sets the ball back and the player continues on to take a shot on goal.
  • Players then move round like so. A-B, B-C, C-D, D-E, E-F, F-A.

Screen 3 (10 mins)

Conditioning and Tactical:

  • 3 v 2 in both halves continuous practice. 10 minutes long.
  • Practice starts with one teams goalkeeper. He has the option to play short or long. However the objective is to get the ball into the other teams half and attack 3 v 2 so the Goalkeeper should really take this into consideration.
  • Kicks in are live but there will be no Corners. If a defender deliberately kicks it out play will restart from the same GK as before giving the attacking team another chance to attack.
  • Defensive team should look to limit good chances for the 3 v 2 team while simultaneously look to try and initiate a counter attacking opportunity. The waiting attacking team in the other half should think about taking up good "ready to attack" positions dependent on where the two defenders are currently positioned.

Adaptations:

  • Time limit on attacks.
