Organization:
20x35 yard area, players split into 2 teams
Instructions:
Player A starts the game and gets a point for getting through a gate - doesn't matter which one.
As soon as Player A goes through either gate Player B sets off, trying to score through either gate. Player A has to recover and TAG player B before he/she gets through a gate.
Player C begins when Player B gets through a gate or is tagged., Player B must immediatly recover to defened
Keep alternating - first team to ten points wins.
Coaching Points(when, how, why):
• Moment of transition
• When to change direction (notice position of defender-where is their momentum taking them)
• How to change direction-short choppy steps to change direction quickly
• Use of body shape/angle to fake/feint
• Why to change pace-Accelerate after the change of direction, ensuring success of next action
• If using pinnies-Can we protect the pinnie, by using our body shape or position of body relative to the defender
Progressions:
P-Pinnies in shorts, taggers must pull the attackers pinnie to tag them.

Organization:
Set up same as previous activity.
Each player has a ball.
Instructions:

Maradona ,Ronaldo Chop.
Player on bottom of grid (Player A) intiates play, they take their first touch to either side and the player on the top of the grid (Player B) reacts to that first touch, players should try to alternate between left and right sides-After players have the technique competition will be introduced-
Coaching Points (what, how, why, when):
• Decision of when to perform the turn.
• Quality of change of direction
• Push the ball out of feet to prepare for pass/dribble after the move (End Product)
• Head up before and after the move
• Can you do it without looking at the ball
---------------
1) How-Technique of V-Turn or Ronaldo Chop
2) Why-to quickly move from an area of less space to more space, or to pull a defender wide to open space in the middle
3) When-As the defender is quickly closing down the available space can you recognize area of more space
4) Where-Wide areas of te field to move into the middle (
5) Who-Wide midfielders or overlappig wingbacks-#7,#11,#2 or #3
Progressions:
P - R - inside cut/ outside cut.
P-Player B passes accross the grid to player A, Player A takes their first touch toward one of the tall cones, Player B reacts to player A's first touch trying to arrive at the tall cone at the same time as Player A, (they are not trying to steal the ball) Player B changes direction, immediatly finds open gate and dribbles through gate, player B finds the gate infront of them and tries to beat player A back to the line
••For progression add tall cone, tell passive defender hy have to jog/run to the tall cone to arrive at the same time as th dribbling player.

Warm-up
Organization:
-20 x 20 yard area
-Each player has a ball
Instructions:
Part 1
Each player has a ball and is introduced to a few different types of dribbling techniques:
Messi, Ronaldo, Xavi and Ineiesta
Players will be asked how they might use each type, after they have been introduced:
-If you have a lot of space which technique might be the best?
-If you are in a very tight space how could you dribble?
Part 2
-Space is the same, now all but two players have a ball.
-The players with out the ball are defenders and hold a pinnie in their hand.
-Defenders are trying to simply touch another players ball with their foot (They are not trying to tackle)
-When a Defender touches a ball they take that ball and give their pinnie to the attacker.
-That attacker then becomes the tagger/defender
-The goal is to get tagged the fewest times and to not be it when time runs out.
Coaching Points:
-Using the proper dribbling technique/surface of the foot
-Looking for/identifiying where the open space.
-Aware of the defenders and other attackers
