Receiving And Ball Control
Organisation
-Players work in pairs, one thrower (Yellow) and receivers (Blue).
Description
-Throwers will work with partner to deliver balls at different heights (starting low, slowly working their way up) for the receiver to control and cushion down the ball before passing it back to the thrower.
-Receivers will work on different types of ball control using various parts of their body:
A) Feet: inside, laces, outside
B) Knee
C) Chest
D) Head
-Rotate players after all parts of the body have been used.
Explain to players how to cushion the ball i.e. take the momentum out of the ball by relaxing the body part you are controlling the ball with. Also position yourself quickly to control the ball.
Progressions
1) Now, players will repeat the same but rotate clockwise after every go.
2) Competition: Now, receivers will try to volley the ball back to the thrower using the laces or inside of the foot. If the ball drops and hits the floor, they loose a life. Everyone has two lives. Switch players around after there is a winner.
Coaching Points
-When cushioning the ball, try to be as delicate as possible with your touch to slow the ball down and bring it close to you.
-When throwing or receiving, be ready on your toes to react quickly to directional change of the ball.

Organisation
-Split players into either Defenders or Strikers.
-Place 1 goal beind eer defender.
Description
-Defenders begins with ball in hands.
-They must throw the ball in the air for the striker to cushion down using the part of the body that they think would be most appropriate for the type of throw (if low, use inside foot or knee, if high use chest or head).
-After ball is cushioned down, defenders must now try to stop striker from scoring.
-Strikers have 30 seconds to score.
-Rotate Strikers 2 more times clockwise so that they face each defender once.
-After they have faced all the defenders, switch players round so that Defenders become Strikers and vice versa.
-You could also place strikers further away so they have to control the ball from further distance.
Progression
-Now strikers will begin facing away from defender to give them even less time to react to ball thrown to them.
Coaching Points
-Strikers can be creative but also think fast when ball is in the air.
