Warm Up Tag (5 minutes)
Have the players put soccer balls spread out on the touch lines (sides), End Line (goal) and Halfway Line (middle of the field).
Tag Games played within the lines of the field. Players cannot go outside their soccer balls staying in the lines of the 1/2 field.
Fire and Ice Tag - 1 coach is a "Ice" tagger and tried to freeze the players by tagging them. When a player get frozen they have to "freeze" with hand in the air. Players who are not tagged need to run and give the frozen player a "fire high five" which gets them back into the game!
Variations of tag games as weeks go on but always start with a fun tag game discussing the boundary lines of the field!

Skill Moves (10 minutes)
Coaches Says - (Simon Says) "Skill Moves"
Start by playing "simon says" with the player at their ball and coach in the middle. Instead if Simon its Coaches Says! Give them different ideas like touch your head, touch your feet, 1 foot on the ball, tap the ball etc.
Look for good listening
Move to Skills Moves (Stationary)
Coach is in the middle and will teach skills moves by demonstrating the skill then allowing players to work on that skill.
1) Toe Taps (sole on top of the ball) "Squish the bug"
2) Foundation Taps (inside of the feet) "popcorn pops"
3) Pull Backs (sole of the foot and turn body)
4) Inside Chops (inside of the foot to turn the ball)

Technical Skills (10-15 minutes)
Dribbling and Passing to cone
1)Dribbling - Have players work on dribbling out and around their cone and back to their spot. Challenge them to use their left foot their right foot. Have them work on the sole pull back, chop turns around the cones and back to starting spot.
2) Passing - Have a player leave their spot and stand at a cone across from another player (groups of 2). Have these two players work on passing back and fourth to each other. You can then stack them 1,2 have players 1 dribble out around cone then pass it to player 2 standing in the spot. Player 2 then dribbles out around the cone and repeats.
Dribbling, Passing, Dribbling and then passing objectives.

Shooting: (5 minutes)
Layoffs-
Each team will split into two lines facing one goal so there isn't more than 3-4 players in a line. The players will pass the ball to the coach as the coach lays the ball off to the side and has the players run up and take a dribble or two and shoot. The player gets their ball out of the net and dribbles back into the same line. Emphasize the players shooting with their laces and NO TOES. This process repeats over and over for 5 minutes.

Creative Free Play (20-25 minutes)
Small Sided Games 4 v 4 NO GOALKEEPERS. Or divide the group in half if a lot of players aren't willing to play. If needed, take the agressive players from all U4 teams and put them on a field and split up the remaining players. The idea of the scrimmage is to get as many kids playing as possible. Another huge goal is to get all the parents off the field and let the kids play without holding hands with parents.
Divide the team into groups of 4 and let them play. If the ball goes out of bounds yell "freeze" moments to discuss boundary lines and what that looks like. Try to eliminate any type of instruction outside of encouraging cheer and moments of the game like when the ball goes out of bounds, fouls or any stoppage moments done with the symbol communication of freeze. Make connections from the tag game of when to stop and simply "freeze your body"

Airplane Runs: (2-3 minutes)
Get the kids excited about airplanes by talking about the noises they make, what they look like, and ask if anyone has been on one or seen one?!
Then have the kids put their wings up and start their engines. Start running around the field trying to get all kids engaged and moving. Have them stop and go a few times. Take them around to see the white field lines to stay inside.
