Focus points on passing that all coaches/teachers need to coach to players:
Split grip: The hands are split on the stick, left hand at the top, right hand down the middle
Ball: ball should be ahead of the body in line with the front left foot
Knees should be bent
Hands and arms away from the body

4v4 Squares Games 1/8th pitches
Rules: Hockey rules
Players score a point by CARRYING the ball into the squares
If they get a point in all 4 squares, they score a GOAL
Players cannot be tackled in the squares but can only spend 5 seconds in a square. Encourage self-pass, encourage correct ball carry position

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Hockey images.
4v4 Turn and Burn with goalkeepers
Set up 7m scoring zone with goals with GK and opposite side End Zone
4v4 attacking to goals. If defending team wins the ball, they need to carry or pass the ball to a team mate over the End Zone. They then turn and attack the goals. While they are behind the End Zone line, they may not be tackled. Another player from their team can drop behind this line to help transfer the ball away from opposition to space.
No more than 2 players from each team can be in the Scoring Zone (create some space)
GKs challenge - clear the ball away from players in the Scoring Zone
If more than 8 players per 1/8th, leave a player from each team in the End Zone and when the outletting team gets them the ball, they join the turn and burn attack and create an overload of players.

Carry Focus
Station 1: Ball Carry Focus
Walk through with players first, THEN create competition
Players get into pairs and stand at a cone (pref 5 cones with some good space between)
Each pair has a ball, player 2 carries ball (focus correct technique) around the outside of the circle until they get back to their partner.
They pass the ball through the legs of their partner who then carries the ball around the circle until they get back to original partner. They can overtake slower players by dragging ball to their RIGHT, away from circle
Continue this while you correct technique and explain how the ball must stay on the stick (no tappytap)
COMPETITION: Now run it as a race with the 2nd player having to drop stick and ball, crawl through partner legs and grab the cone in the middle of the circle. First one wins.
Level up: Run practice and coaching of carrying ball the OTHER way (to the left) and focus on getting feet around the ball and keeping ball on front stick
