Instructions:
The GK is to move between the markers A & B using small sharp steps, the C will serve the ball and the GK is to save it WITHOUT going to ground, the GK is to try and get his body behind the ball and make a clean catch.
The GK does not have to be moving at lightning speed doing this ... not until the ball is served, when he then has to get behind the ball and set
*If the GK''s are not moving properly cones can be used in order for them to shorten their steps
Progression:
The 3 C's are to change position and pass between them for each service making the GK adjust his position to keep his body moving and in line with the ball at the time of the save. The GK has to be aware of where the ball is at all times and move accordingly ie if the GK is far away from the ball he is going to have to most far to get in line
Coaching points:
GK to move with short sharp steps between the cones to always try and be behind the ball
At the time of delivery the GK has to have his head and feet pointing towards the ball

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Instructions:
GK to move in between the markers which are in a semi circle position using short sharp feet (x6)
Progression:
The GK is now to just move around the edge of the cones in order to make a save at the end of each side (6 saves in total)
Coaching Points
GK to use short sharp steps throughout the drill and all saves are to be led with the correct leg and hand, arms out and attacking the ball in order to secure 1st time

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Instructions:
On command the GK to step over cones, drive and dive in order to save ball fed by C
Progression
2 Step, then drive and dive in order to get to ball
Coaching Points:
GK to be encouraged to move as quickly as possible over cones and drive with the leading leg in order to have as much power towards the ball as possible
The GK is to be shown the distance he has covered from his starting position in order that he try to improve the distance covered

See the guidance at the top of this page to understand why you are not seeing interactive Football/Soccer images.
Instructions:
GK to step over marker and dive on ball 1, using collaspe or drive / dive, he is then to rise and go behind cone 2 to dive on ball 2 etc
BOTH SIDES TO BE COVERED
Progression:
(Blue balls) The GK is now challenged by having the balls further away from the markers which will force him to step / drive / dive
Coaching points:
The GK has to ensure that he is using the correct technique for each save, does he come over the marker for the collaspe save? Does he have to drive with his leading leg in order to reach the ball?

Example:
As above in A: If the GK was to perform a collaspe dive he would have little or no chance in reaching the ball,
therefore
he is required to take a step towards the ball in order to be able to use his leading leg to drive towards the ball in order to make the save (B)
