Session Objectives:

1. Ability to apply Low driven ball striking technique.

2. Ability to apply wall pass combination and movement off te ball principles.

a. Disguise check by dragging defender away.

b. Check in quick at a sideways on angle. (if possible check over shoulder before receving ball)

c. Ability to play pass to correct foot to complete a efficient wall pass combination.

3. Ability to create a high tempo/high intensity during the session.

Activity 1: Ball Striking - Technical Repetitions (15 mins)

Organization:

1. Groups of 4-5 players per grid

2. Blue - Blue cones 20yds

3. Red - Red cones 12yds

Instructions:

Part A

1. Target plays w ide player, Wide player plays opposite wide player.

2. Wide player passes ball to central target.

3. Central target takes 1st touch forw ard and takes Finesse shot to next target

4. Wide players run frow ard to support next target.

5 Continue Pattern

Part B

1. Same as above, only change w ill be pass from wide player to target is in front of central player.

2. Target player shoots one time to next target player.

3. Wide players run to support next target Player.

4. Continue pattern.

Coaching Points:

1. Take 1st touch 2-3 steps in front to create momentum and time to look up.

2. Place body behind ball.

3. Locate target ( head up)

4. Plant foot next to ball (Balance)

5. Make contact on the center of the ball

6. Follow through low & straight (end momentum 2 steps past shot)

Activity 2: Finishing w/ Combinations to Wide Areas (15 mins)

Organization:

1. Set up as shown (25x20)

2. Two Groups of 6 players.

3. 12-14 players.

Instructions:

1. Players perform combination shown.

2. Perform practice round for 2 minutes.

3. Progress to competition round for 2 minutes.

4. Rotate Counter Clockwise.

Coaching Points:

1. Timing of Movement (Ability to away and check to when receicing ball to feet)

2. Timing of Movement (Ability to loop wide run when receiving into space)

3. Sharpness of passing technique (Ability to play grasscutter pass)

4. Abiltiy to apply Low driven ball striking techniques from previous activity.

Activity 3: Numbers up Transition 1v1 to 3v3 (15 mins)

Organization:

1. Set up as shown (25x20)

2. 16 players.

3. Plenty of balls.

Instructions:

1. Fast paced 1v1 into 2v1, into 2v2, into 3v2, into 3v3 (TWO minute game)

2. Player 1 plays 1v1 to goal agaisnt Player 2.

3. When play is finished Player 3 dribbles out and plays 2v1 with Player 2 agaisnt Player 1.

4. When play is finished Player 4 dribbles out and plays 2v2 with Player 1 agaisnt Player 2 & 3.

5. When play is finished Player 5 dribbles out and plays 3v2 with Player 2 & 3 agaisnt Player 1 & 4.

6. When play is finished ALL players play 3v3 to goal continously fors 2 minutes.

TEAM WITH MOST GOALS DURING ENTIRE GAME WINS.

PLAY 3 GAMES.

Coaching points:

1. Ability to dribble at defender at speed. Make the defender commit to unbalance or create an opportunity to combine with teammate.

2. Ability to use wall pass combination play when in 2v1 situations.

3. Speed of dribble and ability to create space to find shot on goal.

4. Movement of supporting attacker is key. Diagonal movement to create unpredictable attacks.
