Returning/Setting and movement to support the next phase of play
Progressions
1. Players pass the ball first time and run to the back of their own line
2. Players run to the back of the opposite que.
3. Pass straight and then run diaganol.
4. Run straight and pass diagnol (Player ownership to ensure all cones have a player on to recieve the ball.
Specific Coaching Points
- Player ownership
- Do i hold the ball or do i release straight away allowing me to support another cone?
- If stood on a cone and see a hole get in that hole and allow to support the play.
Aim: Working on supporting play, once passed the ball - where do i need to be next to still remain involved and support the next ball coming in?
Session Progression:
Gradually building up to the end state, initially in the warm up worked on the initial first touches, now working on the first touch and incorporating in player ownership by having to think for themselves (still in a restricted environment) both on and off the ball.

Balls to be fed in from the defender (Red) to the attacking team.

5. 4 v 2 (Attacking)
Points System
1 Point - Hitting the target
2 Points - Keeper Saves
3 Points - Scoring
4 Points - Scoring in either of the corners
Coaching Points
On the ball - Beating the player, Getting a shot off, hitting the maximum points (Shot accuracy)
Off the ball - Movement, Positioning to support the build up, positioning to get a shot off

SSG to allow players to put into practice everything worked on tonight
Small numbers and small pitches to allow players to have the opportunity for lots of shots.
5 v 5 max - Those not partipating in the SSG are participating in the Shooting Competition.
Coaching Points

Shooting Competition (Ran concurrently with the SSG)
1 feeder - player passes to feeder and feeder decides how he is going to return the ball for each round.
Feeder Options
- Ball straight back at them, max 2 touches. 1 to set and 1 to shoot
- Left / Right, first time
- In the air, Max 2 touches
After the time is up, total up the amount of goals scored to give us a winner.

Warm up
1. Conducted without a ball
Mobility, Building up heart rate and dynamic stretching utilising the cones in 2 lines.
2. With a ball
- On the floor side foot 1 touch, alternate feet each side
- 2 touch, 1st setting self then returning ball
- Alternate feet side foot volley
- 2 touch bring the ball down and return
- Heading, 1 side direct head back other side up the ball for the player to come up and meet it
Aim: To increase players heart rate and to start working on first touch and receving the ball, first touch is vital when receiving the ball prior to getting strike off.
Specific Coaching Points:
- Punching the ball back in with a side foot volley
- Direct with passing and heading
- Initial touch to set up for return ball
