This session is designed to improve our ability to build up from We Phase 1 to We Phase 2. Under NCAA rules we only have 60 minutes with the ball. Therefore we do a dynamic warm-up without the ball prior to this training session.

Objective: improve our ability to build-up in We Phase 1-2.
Organization: 7v7 + 3 neutrals. The neutrals are a 3 or 4, 6, and 9.
Instructions: play 7v7 + 3. When a team wins possession they must get their shape and keep the ball.
Variations: (1) 2 touch, (2) turn it into a game where a team gets 1 point each time they get it from the 3/4 to the 9.
Coaching Points:
1. First pass to keep the ball once winning it;
2. Movement to create shape;
3. Possession v. Penetration

Key Coaching Points
1. GK starting position;
2. 3/4 acting as 1st playmaker;
3. Movement of the pivot to create numbers up;
4. Populate the center channels and leave 1 weakside winger wide and open;
5. Start play thru the middle;
6. Don't play the 2/5 unless she is AHEAD of her direct opponent
7. Don't play anyone in the same lane UNLESS they can go forward or they run into the lane.

4v0 Rondo (15 mins)
Objective: improve passing, receiving, angles of support, movement without the ball.
Organization: Grids of 4 players. 10x10
Instructions: Players play 4v0 for 1 minute with 1 minute rest. Mandatory 2 touch, madatory receive the ball across body.
Variations: Make it a competition. First one to 10 perfect passes within the rules wins.
Key Coaching Points
1. Quality of passes;
2. Receiving it open;
3. Moving early to get in the proper positioning;
4. Maintaining diamond shape and good spacing.
5. Checking your shoulder.
