Bedding Down
Set up
Red Centre half starts with the ball
Plays into one of the 4 midfielders who play 4v2 who then look to hit the striker in the attacking zone. Only way to connect with the striker is with a pass into him
Defenders in final zone must mark goal side
3 players can go support with no trackers
Progressions
1 tracking midfielder
4v3 in midfield zone
Coaching Points (Striker)
Starting position in between the 2 centre backs
Constantly reacting to triggers to come and show - if not on to come and show then give length again
Assess the pass you receive - if hard enough to flick round the corner and change the point of attack do so, if not then bounce back into central midfielder who can change point of attack
Once layed off look to spin in an attempt to break the line
Coaching points (Support)
Use centre half as depth if we cannot play forward
Look to play into striker ASAP but circulate the ball if hitting striker is not an option
If we can receive and flick one round the corner then do so - if not bounce back to centre half who can play through, ensure we split to enable pass through to striker
Supporting run with 3 points of attack - 2 in wide area and 1 in central area
Timed runs not going beyond the ball too early
If played from central area other midfielder should realise this and look to support
If striker peels wide then look to attack central space
Be positive and look to receive and play forward
