Organization:
Two teams, set up as shown. Shooting lines 5 yds apart, add as many as needed given player age and ability to shoot from distance.
*Ball MUST be moving!
Instructions:
- Shooting starts at the furthest line.
- One player at a time takes a shot, after the first player shoots the second player is allowed to shoot right away. Proceed until all players have two shots.
- After both teams go move up to the next line and repeat.
Coaching Points:
- As you get closer, shift focus from driving the ball (power) to accuracy (placement).
- Head up to observe GK's positioning, shoot quickly to take advantage of GK being out of position from previous shot.
Progressions:
- Shooters line up to the left for left-footed shots.
- Increase distance of cones.
- Add a second GK.

Organization:
3v3 plus GKs. Line of cones at 12 yards on each side.
Instructions:
Regular game except goals scored from behind the cones count for 2.

Technical Mastery (25 mins)
Organization:
Players in pairs with a ball.
Instructions:
(A) Practice shots from a stand still with a partner. Alternate R/L foot.
Coaching Points:
Angle of approach – off center
Non-kicking foot placed to side, slightly behind the ball
Ankle locked, toe down
Contact foot – laces (instep)
Positive attitude towards shooting
Progressions:
(B) Make it a target practice game. Place cones between partners and place a ball on the cone. Players attempt to knock the ball off the cone, first to five wins.
