Screen 2 (15 mins)

Skill  20mins

Keep the players split into 3's, have 2 passing players in the main square and one defending player inside the small highlighted square in the middle.

  • Two of the 4 teams will start with a ball.
  • The drill will require the Two passing players to make at least 2 passes to each other. they must then make a pass out of their square into another square.
  • There can only be one ball in each square at a time.
  • When the ball does inter into a square this will mean the defender can leave their box in the middle to try and win the ball off the passers. As soon as the ball leaves a square the defender must retreat back to their box in the middle.
 Progressions

  • Allow two defenders to move into one of the squares at the same time and a third passing player from another box to create a 3v2 situation. continuing the same pass count. this will make players have to move further to get into space in other squares.
Regressions

  • reduce amount of defenders to allow more passes to be made.
  • Make area bigger to allow more spaces for passes to be made.
