Technical handling (20 mins)
Organization:
Set up as shown
2x4 box
Instructions:
Handling
Server 1 volley in to hands
GK then moves into a forward set
server 2 serves to hands
5 reps then rotate
Blocking
GK sets at back gate then moves forward to front gate and holds
GK reacts to servers touch then narrows into a block save
GK then moves at a backwards angle to side gate and does the same save for wider server

Thumbs behind the ball
Hold ball still where its caught
Don't drop hands

Slight step into the ball
Hand Position under the ball
Fingers pointing towards the ball

Close hands into chest to secure the ball into body

Quick approach to the ball
Decelerating close to the ball
Balanced body position, square to the ball. Do not turn shoulders and head away.
One leg fully bent, other half bent allowing for quick recovery to feet if neeeded.

Introduce front smother/block

Server 1 sets to Coach or Server 2
Server 2 to strike low first time
GK to move off front post when Server 1 passes to server 2
Server 2 can take a touch to instigate a 1v1 situation
