Session designed for the attacking team to develop the skills to play quickly out of the back AND the defending team to deny vertical passes from the back.
Attacking Objective: Drop CDM for support. Play through him when options one and two are not available.
Defending Objective: Force play wide or negative.

Objective of game: to activate the mind's eye in order to improve passing and receiving so they can play out of te back.

Problem: We have to get the ball out of our defending third
Who: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
Where: Defending third
When: a) the goalie retrieves the ball b) we gain possession
What: ATTACKERS a) players quickly moves away from ball into open space with open hips. b) diagonal ball played to furthest foot. c) Play through the CDM Repeat. DEFENDERS: Pressure forces to one side. Cover cuts passing angle for through ball. Force pass wide or back.
Why: ATTACK: To move the defense with ball movement DEFEND: Prevent the advancement of the ball.
Layout: Half field
Restrictions: 8 minute on 1 minute rest; 4 cycles; then 75 seconds on 1 minute rest. 4 cycles
Scoring: ATTACK: 1 point for playing through the CDM. 1 point of building to the midfield. DEFEND: 1 point for forcing ball wide or back. 1 point of cutting off a pass.
