Basic Red Light, Green Light game played as a kid.
Each player has a ball.
Goal is to traverse the field as quickly as possible while maintaining control of the ball on the dribble and listening to coach commands.
Red Light = STOP
Green Light = GO
Variations -
Yellow Light = SLOW
Blue Light = TURN AROUND
Purple Light = CRAZY DANCE
Have the coach hold up Green or Red cones so the kids have to look up while dribble
CPs: Control the ball, dribble fast and slow, starting and stopping motions

- balls are the “dog” while the players without balls are the “dog catchers”
Dog catchers attempt to steal the ball and put it into the goal.
Once ball in the goal, that player becomes the dog catcher

Players in a group
Coach (in black) calls each player one-by-one to score a goal. Each of the players cheer for that person and encourages them to score!
CPs: Utilize the skill taught during that session, encourage and be excited once the goal is scored, have other players cheer for player who is going at the time.

Finishing the session by playing 3v3 in half the field. Try to get players to play in a diamond shape (they understand that terminology). Allow play to one or two goals depending upon how the session is progressing.
Have a number of balls ready to put into play so players do not have to chase.
Allow to play for a few minutes (4-8 minutes)
CPs: Have fun with the ball, enjoy playing soccer, try to do what we practiced.
