High Five Shootign Game

Session Setup

Split players into 2 teams on the pitch *The diagram is 1 pitch, another pitch with 2 more teams will need setting up if numbers in the group are big

1 team will be shooting

1 shagging

Session Rules

The shooting team will be numbered 1-6

Number 1 will pick which side they want to have the first shot

When they have chosen, they will start running up to that goal

When approaching the goal they will have a choice of 3 different footballs to shoot with - The 3 footballs are to create 3 different shooting angles for the players

Once they have had a shot, they then run back to their team and high five player number 2

Player number 2 will now go to the opposite side of the area & have a shot, again choosing one of the 3 footballs

Number 2 will high five number 3 etc, until number 6 will go back to high five number 1 again & start from the beginning

Each team has 2 minutes to score as many goals as possible

After the 2 minutes, each team rotate sides so everybody has a go

If there are 2 pitches set up, rotate teams across pitches to give all teams an opportunity to play against all teams

*Coach to make sure that players are aware of their jobs when they are not shooting, at all times 3 footballs need to be available to shoot, so the footballs need to get back as quickly as possible

Coaching points regarding technique to be recapped by coach & demonstrated again if needed

Round Robin Numbers Game

Session set up -

Have 2 goalkeepers in each goal

Potentially 4 teams of 7

Number each player 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 have them matched up with other teams players. For example, All number 1's should be comfortable playing 1v1's with each other. Follow that pattern for all numbers throughout teams.

Coach stands in the middle with the ball

Session rules

1st version - Call the number out, all 4 players from each team come into the middle & play against each other. All 4 teams can score in either goal

2nd Version - Get teams situated on each side of the whole to team up (using the diagram above, red & yellow will be one team, black & blue will be another team) This makes it into a 2v2 where they can pass to each other.

3rd Version - Throw 2 balls in at once and have two 1v1's going at the same time e.g Red team plays the blue team, black team plays the green team. Keep rotating teams around.
