Turn and Shoot (Inside and Outside)

Small groups to allow for multiple reps

Waiting players queue behind a gate of cones with one shooting player at cone 1 with their back to goal

Waiting player sets a ball into the shooter, who must turn to their left with one touch, and shoot at the goal and return to cone 1.

Waiting player sets another ball into the shooter who must turn to their right with one touch and shoot at the goal.

After these two efforts, collect the ball and return to the back of the queue. Next player moves up into each position,

After one rep for each player on cone 1, repeat the process for cone 2. 

After cone 2 complete, open discussion with players, offer suggestions to help process if needed:

• keeping the ball close but allowing the space to shoot
• fake body movements to fool defenders
• shooting quickly to maximise opportunity
• offering/passing to the the back foot

• adding a defender to cone and shooter able to decide inside or outside
• central 3rd cone
• wider positioning of 1 and 2
• rondo scenario before looking for pass to challenge timing of pass
