4 Cone Drill Warm-up (15 mins)
ORGANIZATION:
-5 players in a 15x15 yard grid
-First player passes to any of the other three players and follows his pass
-Receiver takes touch away from the cone (simulates defensive pressure) and delivers a pass to any other player
-Unscripted passing pattern continues as additional elements are introduced (ex. wall pass, dribble/takeover, one touch, etc.)
COACHING POINTS:
-All passes hit firmly on the ground
-Receiver must move off the cone to distance self from the "defender"
-A variety of game-like settling techniques used (let the ball run to back foot, come get the ball with outside of front foot, feint a touch and let the ball run) for improved skill and deception
-Follow pass with change of pace
