Set up: Use half the field with 4 designated zones as shown in the diagram. The red team building out the back plays in a 4-4 formation with two center backs, two outside backs, and four midfielders (6, 8, 11, 7). The blue team has five players (9, 10, 8, 7, 11). In the zone closest to the goal
The red team golakeeper always starts with the ball, thier job is to build up and keep possession under pressure in the defensive half, exploiting numerical advantages. Once the red team loses possession they should transition quickly to apply pressure and try to win theball back.
Players must stay in their zones until the red team has lost the ball. Once the blue team wins the ball the zonal restrictions no longer apply and all players can move freely to attack/defemd. The CBs (4/5) and outside backs (2/3) are limited to two/three touches, everybody else has unlimited touches.
Red team receives a point for every 8 consecutive passes. Red team also gets a point if they are able to win the ball back within 6 seconds of losing the ball.
Blue team gets 2 points for each goal they score.
Coaching Points:
Look to exploit numerical advantages when in possession
When possession is lost closest player should provide pressure with second defender(s) providing cover. All other players should adjust position to effectively defend as a unit

Set up: Use half the field with a similar set up to the previous activity but there are no specified zones and all players have unlimited touches. The blue team now has an additional central midfielder (6). Place a small goal centrally ten yards beyond the halfway line or if there is an additional player have them play as an unopposed striker (9) for the red team.
Red team receives a point for every 8 consecutive passes, winning the ball back within 6 seconds of losing the ball, and an additional point if they are able to play into the small target goal/player. Blue team tries to win the ball and score.
Progression:Add 2 full backs for the blue team to create numbers equality.
Coaching Points:
Team in possession must play quickly and exploit any numbers up situations
When possession is lost closest player should provide pressure with second defender(s) providing cover. All other players should adjust position to effectively defend as a unit
Quickly close off passing lanes towards goal in order to delay attack allowingteam to get organized defensively

The ball always starts with the red team goalkeeper after an attack is finished or the ball goes out of play.
Blue team must score on the counter attack within 12 seconds of winning the ball, if they do score the gaol is worth 2 points
Red team gets a point if they score or win the ball back within 6 seconds of losing the ball

Build out the back & Pressing ball carrier in transitional mmoments (15 mins)
Objective: To develope the collective reactions needed in the transition from attack to defense in the defensive half.
Set up: Using half the field, team is set up in desired formation (here it is a 4-2-3-1). Activity starts from the goalkeeper and team plays out from the back keeping the ball on the ground with a variety of passes, continuously moving to support the player with the ball.
On the coach's signal, whichever player has the ball becomes the opponent and all other players must transition from attack to defence, in order to immediately provid pressure and adjust as a team tactically for the situation. Player closest to the ball provides pressure, one or two other players provide cover and all other players shift together to get compact and in correct defnsive shape.
Feel free to implement different restrictions e.g. players are limited to 2-3 touches
Players play a pas forward followed by a pass backwards.
