Description

Creating Overloads - Exploiting a numerical advantage understanding when and how

Area size - 60m x 50m

6v6 to start the drill with 1 GK and then moving on to 8v8 for the SSG

20 minute Specific Session - 30 minute SSG

The main aim of the drill is to create a numberical advantage upon the defending teams to our attacking advantages.

A lot of communication is needed and the technical ability also needs to be to a good standard.

Coaching points - Making sure the attacking team find the spare player to create the overloads. Fast passing and moving forward when having possession of the ball. The angle of passes and making overlapping and underlapping run in wider areas.

Targets - can we score from creating an overload in a central area?

Challenge - score from a cross in to an attacking area from an overlapping run

Condition - The ball must be played in to the central area first of all.
