Football/Soccer Session Plan Drill (Colour): Phase 1 + 2

Phase 1 + 220 mins

Objective:  WarmUp to prepare players for match using agility, stretching, runs, passing, collecting and rondos.

Instruction:  Phase 1 - 3 lines of 5 players.  Use agility through the first 3 cones, varying runs through the next two cones.  Progression - Put a player on each of top 3 cones with a ball.  Passing to running player, collect and pass back.  Two touch, one touch and a 1v1 move.  Replace player, player at top runs to back of line.  Phase 2 - Rondos 4v1 one touch.  Progression - Possession game 2v2 plus 1 and add enders.

Time:  Total time 8-10 minutes, 4 minutes work, 1 minute rest.

Emphasis:  Quality passing at pace, body position, tight collections.

Objective:  Defenders - building out of the back and finding midfield players (players not starting in blue).  Attacking players - shooting on goal.

Instructions:  Defenders will build the ball out using one and two touch and proper body position to find the midfield players in blue.  Attackers will play a shooting exercise.  Player C makes multiple runs around 4 cones that allow him to shoot in different types of game situations.  Players A and B will pass the ball to Player C.  Players rotate.

Time:  total time 10 minutes.  No rest.

Emphasis:  Passing with pace, finding different channels of play for defenders.  Attackers, sharp runs off the ball, shooting with proper technique.
