Team in possession is looking to make 10 passes for 1 point. The team of 3 is looking to press to disrupt play and win the ball, if they are successful they look to score in any of the four goals for 2 points. Teams play for 3 minutes, and then the new 3 defenders come in. After 6 minutes rotate the roles of the two teams. Look to play 2 sets in total so players have 2 full opportunities of pressing.

4v4 conditioned game.
Players play a 4v4 game with targets who have 2 touch. The game is simple if you score you get to stay on. However as soon as there is a goal, there is a transition moment, the team that conceded gets off, The new team gets a ball from the goal that was just scored on and must attack from there, encourage the team that scored to high press to count 3 seconds so they can not build or have success.

Running Through The Ball
Prepping to Press.Players in possession play around the grid either clockwise or anti clockwise. Players on the ball must take 2 touch one touch to control and the other to pass. Do a sequence of this. Now the key to this exercise is when the ball is played to the player directly opposite you, you must immediately press. The player who has just pressed joins the end of the line they have just pressed. Play continues with the passing sequence. Players pressing are not actively trying to win the ball yet, just to get into the motion of when to press and anticipating play.
Coaching Points
- This exercise is difficult so have the players start slowly.
- Encourage players to press on the flight of the ball, so allow them to make mistakes but let them know if they are too late it will jam the exercise
- Remember we are wanting to run through the ball so this is a high intensity pressing exercise.
