15 mins
topic: possession - choice of dribble or pass - developmental
midfield phase - attackers
organization:
- 20'x20' area
- create 4 gates - players must stay in gates
- players play 2v1 to get to the opposite side
- defender wins ball they pass to their team
- attacker that loses ball becomes defender
- continuous
key factors and progressions:
- support = angle and distance
- decision making
- weight of pass
- speed of play
- scan before they receive
- control - firsttouch, control away from pressure, outcome after you control the ball
- communication
- dribbling - technique, control, speed, decision making
(running with close control)

topic: possession - choice of dribble or pass - developmental
midfield phase - attackers
organization:
- 2v1
- 1 defender - 1 central player - 2 wide attackers start at back cones - 1 goalkeeper
- starts from a pass from service wide to central
- service wide calls out a colour
- attacker that starts with that colour comes to and creates 2v1
- ball goes out, keeper saves - activity restarts
- service player replaces central - defender on that side out of the grid replaces defender
- central attacker replaces wide attacker - wide attacker goes where service started
- replay activity from opposite side - rotation remains the same
key factors and progressions:
- support = angle and distance
- timing of movement
- decision making
- speed of play
- recognition - 2v1 attack quickly
- weight of pass
- control - firsttouch, control away from pressure, outcome after you control the ball
- finishing - withdifferent parts (inside foot, outside, laces) decision making, accuracy

topic: possession - choice of dribble or pass - developmental
midfield phase - attackers
Topic: Transitioning from defending to attacking (10 minutes)
Organization:
- 30 yards x 25 yards
- Split the field up into 2 grids
- 2 v 1
- Defense plays to central attacker and closes down
- Attacker can use either player in the grid for 2 v 1 or play 1 v 1
- if attacker chooses to use a player, the other player isn't involved.
- First attacker switches with support player, support player with defender & defender with attacker
- Players switch sides of the grid
- Defender wins ball they play wide
Key Factors & Progressions:
- Angle of support & distance
- Mobility - timing of movement off ball
- Receive on back foot
- Decision making
- Game speed
- Weight of pass
- Give & go
- Overlapping
- Sent through
- Follow shots in

15 mins
Organization:
players start with the ball inbetween the small goals
2 players start in the middle, closest attacking, furthest defending
player passes the ball in closest player, defender presses.
center attacking player passes back
player accepts pass, plays on to opposite end, then goes to sideline
This creates 2v1 for an attempt on goal.
player rotation
player who scores goes behind the nets
player who goes to sideline becomes attacker
player who also was attacking becomes the defender
Opposite side of the activity goes next with the same rotation.
Key factors & progressions:
Support - angle + distance
Mobility - timing of movement
Speed of play - game speed
Decision making
Scan before receiving

topic: possession - choice of dribble or pass - developmental + warm-up (15 minutes)
midfield phase - attackers
5 steps to intervene to correct during session
- freeze, recreate, demonstrate, rehearse, go live
- let the players demonstrate and rehearse before going live
- check for understanding
warm-up
- place 2 cones approximately 20' for one another
- divide players into 2 side by side lines
- players preform dynamic stretching
- high-knees, butt kicks, opening/closing hips etc. (3-4mins)
organization:
- 10'x15'
- players play 2v1 - 1 pinnie in hand for defender
- if defender touches ball they switch with player who had last touch
- if ball goes out coach helps play in
key factors and progressions:
- support = angle and distance
- scan before they receive
- decision - making
- weight of pass
- transition - defense to attack
- mobility - movement off the ball to create the right angle for support
- control - firsttouch, control away from pressure, outcome after you control the ball
- dribbling - technique, control, speed, decision making
(running with close control)
- encourage players on the importance of warm-up - injury prevention
