Screen 3 (20 mins)

Live three shot cutback progression

Working Goalkeeper starts in position for a cutback from wide goalkeeper. Goalkeeper aims for cone set up at the working goalkeepers upper range for diving.

Working Goalkeeper recovers quickly into a set position for a simulated cutback reaching a strikers feet at the penalty spots height. Working Goalkeeper makes a reaction save with emphasis on good parry location or proper technique to holding the ball.

Working Goalkeeper then recovers into a final shot from a goalkeeper opposite side and top of the box who serves a dangerous volley with pace on the strike and Working Goalkeeper reacts appropriately.

Switch sides with the same formatting.

Key coaching points are finishing one action before the next save occurs, maintaining a proper set position for each situation, parrying into safe and wide locations away from play, and holding onto shots to prevent a second shot opportunity. This drills transitions into small-sided gameplay with the team.

Las Positas Men's Soccer fun points game cool down

Squad players and coaches are split into equal teams. Winning team from last drill get to choose whether to go first or second.

All players must put their ball on the 18 yard line. One player kicks at a time. A shot on target that bounces into the goal before touching the net is worth 1 point. A shot on target that hits the net without bouncing is worth 2 points. A shot hitting the side posts are worth 5 points and a shot hitting the crossbar is worth 10 points but can continue to be chained into other point opportunities. The chain is done if the ball stops its movement before the same player reaches it for their second attempt. Points are totaled at the end. The next team grabs a ball and sets up as soon as possible and aims to beat the first teams point total.

Opposing team players must catch the ball before it bounces with one hand to deduct the opposing team 5 points per catch. If the shooting team misses the frame completely they lose 2 points.

Losing team must pick up all equipment and clear the field. Winning team can choose to head to the benches or help their teammates out.
