Football/Soccer Session Plan Drill (Colour): 3-2-1 Finishing

3-2-1 Finishing (20 mins)

Field Size = 44 yards wide (width of 18) x 30 yards long

Two teams (Red v. Blue) with 8 field players per team plus goalkeepers playing to large goals -- if numbers allow have third team around field to keep ball in play.

Each team has three touches per individual to start the game.

If your team scores, the other team goes to two touches per individual. (ie: Red scores, Blue now two touches per person while Red still has three touches per individual)

If your team scores again, the other team goes to one touch per individual.

If your team scores again, your team wins. (First team to three goals wins).

Cycle on other team.

CPs: Recognize finishing opportunities, awareness in the box, creative movement and finishing attempts

Hexagon (20 mins)

Field size = 60 yards wide x 40 yards long

Play to large goals

Field set up with cones to indicate a hexagon shape (as shown above)

Red v. Blue 5v5 inside the hexagon field (these players stay inside the grid)

Players in Black are neutral along the outside and can be played by either team, have one or two touches

CPs: Look for attacking opportunities, quality finishing chances, create space, utilize vision and awareness
