Players are partnered up with the player next to them. If player plays their partner then partner must play a "line breaking pass" i.e. not the person right next to them on either side. If either partner does not play a line breaking pass then both players become defenders. If player plays a pass that is intercepted then they become the defender and a new partnership is formed.
