Session Organization:
Grid 20m x 30m with a 2m zone marked as shown at the 20m point. Balls, poles. cones and bibs. Players split into 3 equal teams.
Explanation:
Drill is a normal relay race where each play in turn has to RWB up and back and the first team to complete the race wins.
The race begins with the first player of each team starting at Position A, they run to the cone collect their ball and proceed to RWB to the Drop Zone (AREA B), where they must stop their ball complete 5 reps of skill (toe taps, sole roles etc.), they then race out and around the pole back to the Drop Zone, collect their ball and RWB back to the cone, where they stop the ball and run to tag the next player.
Repeat until all have completed, First team finished correctly wins.
Progression:
Set specific foot to RWB i.e. Left foot only, Right foot only, inside of foot, outside of foot etc.
Add in specific skills whilst RWB Step overs, Ronaldo turns etc.
Evaluation:
Am I using the correct part of my foot?
Am I using the correct touch big for speed, small for control etc.?
Can I attack the space?
Can I get my head when RWB?

Session Organization:
Poles set out in small 2m x 2m square as shown.
3 players per grid with a ball between 3. Spare balls on the side.
Explanation:
Play starts at A,
A passes to B, B checks off to receive and plays pass back to A.
A then plays pass to C who checks into the centre of the poles to receive and plays pass back to A.
Repeat for 30-60secs, then rotate players. Continue.
Progression:
Change player starting positions so that B and C are starting on opposite side of the grid, to work both sides and feet.
Change passing sequence so that when A passes to C, C and B play a 1-2 before C returns the pass back to A.
Evaluation:
Communication.
Movement off the ball to receive.
Weight of pass.
Use of correct foot to receive pass.
Body shape when receiving, 1st touch and return pass.
Head up on touch.
Scan before receiving pass.

Session Organization:
20m x30m grid with small goals or large goals with GK's. Balls and bibs. 2 teams.
Explanation:
The game is directional.
3 players from 1 team start with the ball at one end (Blue), whilst 2 players from the opposing team start as defenders (Red).
The team in possession attempts to score a goal in the goal at the opposite end to which they start and the defending team attempts to prevent them.
If the defending team wins the ball they have 30 secs to try and score.
Once a goal is scored or the ball goes out of play the turn is complete, another member from the defending team enters the grid to form a 3v2 against 2 new members of the opposing team who now become the defenders.
The initial 3 attacking players leave the grid and return to the starting area.
Continue for 3mins, rotate players and continue.
Progression:
Impose a time limit to score.
Maximum touches per player or number of passes required to score.
Evaluation:
Use of body to protect the ball.
Communication.
Movement with & without the ball.
Teamwork.
Weight of pass.
1st touch.
Movement and timing of runs.

Striking the Ball - Crossing & Finishing (15 mins)
Session Organization:
Balls, cones and large goals with GK.
Setup as shown.
Explanation:
Start with Player 1,
Player 1 passes to Player 2,
Player 2 passes back to Player 3 and turns to make a run into the penalty area.
Player 3 passes to wide Player 4 and makes forward run into the penalty area.
Player 4 makes forward run and looks to cross the ball into the penalty area for either 2 or 3 to shoot and score.
Players follow their passes i.e. 1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4 and 4 collects the ball and returns to back of the line.
Repeat.
Switch to opposite side to practice crossing from both sides.
Progression:
Change passing combination in the central area.
Add a defender/s in the penalty area.
Evaluation:
Weight of pass, correct foot for receiver.
Crossing technique - can we slightly arc our approach to the ball when crossing?
Positioning of the wide player to receive the pass.
Correct Movement and Timing of runs.
Technique when shooting - body position, striking (pass or touch)
Communication.
