Organization:

  • grid 10x17
  • neutral players on every side 
  • 1v1 in the middle 

Instructions:

  • players on outside have unlimited touches / progress to 2 touch/ progress to 1 touch on long side 
  • player A starts with the ball
  • player A must combine with either player N (neutral) before he can find player T (target) on opposite side to score a point 
  • game continues until one of the players reaches 5pts  

Coaching Points:

  • dec when to check in, when to check out 
  • quick wall pass, open body pos, scanning 
  • movement off the ball to receive ball 
  • movement right after giving the pass to signal to neutrals and targets where you want the ball 
  • communication (voice, body language) 

Progressions:

  • 2 touch/1 touch for N

Instructions:

  • players in the middle can only score their points from receiving the ball from an outside player and finding a different outside player 

Coaching Points:

  • timing of movements from each player 
  • one checks in, other finds space in between or behind 
  • anticipate where ball will go next, or demand ball to go where you want it, countermovement 
  • sharp movement vs passive movement, scanning
