10 mins
Objective:
Develop coordination, agility, and quickness through dynamic warm-up races.
Set-Up:
Area: 20m long lanes
Equipment: Small cones, big cones, bibs, agility stairs (ladders)
Organization: 3 lines of players for races
Explanation:
Players start at the line and perform 3 burpees.
Jump left-right over the agility stairs, then perform inside-outside footwork through the stairs.
At the small cone, turn around and sprint to the big cone to collect a bib.
Return to the starting point, repeating the same sequence.
Coaching Points:
Emphasize quick, precise footwork in the agility stairs.
Maintain balance and control during lateral jumps.
Encourage full effort while keeping movements sharp and coordinated.
Differentiation:
Change the footwork pattern in the stairs each round (e.g., one-foot in, two-feet in, lateral steps).
Variation/Extensions:
Time each race for added competition.
Add a ball carry on the return leg.
Reverse direction (start with the big cone).

Target Passing Challenge
Organization:
Players work in pairs.
Set up three cones in a line, 10 yards apart.
The ball is placed on the middle cones.
Each player stands behind one of the outer cones, facing their partner as portrayed in the diagram
Instructions:
Players take turns passing the ball to try and knock the ball off the center cone.
Every time a player hits the ball, they earn 1 point.
Players alternate turns.
To increase difficulty, progress by requiring a first touch before the pass.
Coaching Points:
Head up to observe and aim for the target.
Head down at the moment of contact to focus on the ball.
Non-kicking foot placed beside the ball, pointing at the target.
Use the inside of the foot: heel down, toe up.
Strike the middle of the ball and follow through toward the target.
Adjust power for accuracy over force.
Game Variations:
Game 1: Dominant Foot – Inside Pass
2-minute rounds using only the dominant foot with the inside.
Players compete against their partner; winner moves up, loser moves down in a ladder format.
Play 3–4 rounds.
Game 2: Non-Dominant Foot – Inside Pass
Repeat the game, but use only the non-dominant foot for passing.
Game 3: Dominant Foot – Laces Pass
Players now pass using the laces of their dominant foot.
Game 4: Non-Dominant Foot – Laces Pass
Repeat using the laces of the non-dominant foot.

Activity Name: 3v2 Build-Out Support Game
Set-Up:
Area: Rectangular grid (30x20)
Players:
Red: One player starts with the ball at the back line (server), one additional red player starts in a line just ahead
Blue: Two players start at the top of the area, ready to press when the ball is served.
Ball Start: back-line red player sends the ball in to initiate play.
How It Works:
Ball is served in by Red.
Two Red players from the line step into the game to support the receiving player at the middle of the field
Two Blue players press immediately to win the ball and protect their goal.
The aim for Red is to build up from the back and progress the ball toward a goal using support below or above the ball.
Blue aims to win the ball and counter toward the opposite target.
Key Coaching Points:
Communication: Constant verbal and non-verbal cues between teammates.
Body Shape: Open stance to see both the field and incoming pressure.
Receiving Skills: First touch into space away from pressure.
Passing Quality: Weight, accuracy, and timing of pass.
Decision-Making: When to support underneath vs. above the ball.
Execution Under Pressure: Quick, decisive play to exploit numerical advantage.
Constraints/Progressions:
Limit touches to increase speed of play.
Add a time limit for Red to reach the target zone.
Adjust starting positions to change pressing angle for Blue.
Primary Outcomes:
Improve Red’s ability to play out from the back in a 3v2 scenario.
Develop supporting movement and angle creation.
Enhance players’ scanning, communication, and collective “scheming” to break a press.

20 mins
Objective:
Train players to maintain width, depth, and support to break a high press, with quick ball circulation and smart decision-making.
Organization:
Red in a 1-2-1-2 formation vs. Blue in a 3-forwards + 1-midfielder press.
Play starts from the GK or CBs in a half-field setup.
Key Coaching Points:
Width: Stretch the press with wingers and outside backs.
Depth: Stagger center backs for passing lanes.
Support: CM and AM provide options above/below the ball.
Mobility & Distances: Maintain playable gaps, keep the AM (10/8) moving.
Circulation: Quick, firm passes; switch play if blocked.
Communication & Awareness: Clear signals, constant scanning.
Progressions:
Dribble over a line to score.
Pass through midfield gates.
Split defenders with passes.
Play into target players/goals.
Maintain possession in a set zone.
Change defensive formation to adjust pressure.
Outcome:
Improves build-out play under pressure, enhances support movement, and sharpens technical execution in a realistic game scenario.
