Football/Soccer Session (Difficult): Crossing and Finishing (Start Time: 2016-03-08 06:00:00)

Warm-up (25 mins)

Set-up:

25x30 yard grids. Lines of 3 on each end line. 1 ball starts with the central player in each line.

Description:

Central players plays ball wide to wide player. Wide player dribbles down the line, passes ball across o 1 of the 2 runners. 2 runners are the other 2 players in the group of 3. They have 1 touch to play the ball to the central player on the line they are attacking. The drill starts again from that end, the 3 that finished join the opposite end.

Progressions:

1. Front post and back post runners. Play front post runner.

2. Front post and pull back runners. Play pull back runner.

3. Pull back and back post runners. Play back post runner.

Expanded Small-Sided (30 mins)

Set-up:

Just over half field to 1 big goal on the far end line. 2 pug goals on the near end line in each corner. Balls start on the botoom of the circle.

Description:

Defending team plays with a back 4, 2 holding midfielders, 1 attacking midfielder, and 1 central striker. Attacking team plays with 2 defenders, 2 holding mids, 2 attacking mids, and 3 forwards. Attacking team tries to score on the defending team. Defending team tries to defend, then when they win the ball, try switch the point of attack and score in the opposite corner goals.
