Instructions: Players must run in diagonal lines whilst dribbling a basketball. Really focusing on the change of direction and the explosiveness of the dribble. Please wait for the person in front of you to change direction before going as it will save clashes and bunching up. Once you have reached the end of the court please go off to the right side and jog round to the cue.
Coaching points: make sure to cross the ball over to the opposite hand when changing direction.
Progressions / Adaptions
A defender could be added to the jockey the attacker but has no intention of stealing the ball. This will show them how it can affect them in real game situations and why changing hand is important because it keeps the ball away from the defenders side of your body.

Conditioned game: 5v5 game but anytime its your teams inbound you must choose one person (different person each time) to dribble up past half court without being able to pass the ball. The person who is assigned to mark that player will then try and do a half court press on that player (1v1). This will allow the player to try and dribble the defender and will help improve dribbling skills against a defender
Coaching point: Use proper dribbling techniques and focus on that change of direction to try get by your defender.
