Organisation : Playing out from the back zoned phase
For a 14231 formation
Our objective is to build up play out one side of the pitch using one CB, FB, 6 & 10.
We are trying to build up play by maintaining possession, moving the ball fluidly and meet our target of 8 6 passess, after we get our 6 passes we must then recycle back to our CB, once CB receives the ball, the opposite CBs trigger is to drop and have plenty of room to receive and play.
Coaching Points:
1. Quality - Passing/Weight of pass/backfoot or Frontfoot, touch/direction of touch/body shape to maintain possessio.
2. Move into spaces to create good angles to receive the ball. (Allow step into grid)
3. Opposite CB, Body Shape must be open to the pitch, angle and distance vital, extremely Distance to drop!
4. Must move the ball within 3 touches into the goal (FB Area) and pace being game realistic.
Opposition:
1. When in 4v2, Work together in a wolf pack, no single press, stay attached, cut lanes.
Notes:
CB who is inactive is doing ladder work until CB gets on the ball and every time he does he has to drop with plenty of distance, also the inactive opposition player must do ladder work, but rotate after every cycle, Progression is go 4v2
Ball needs to be moving fluidly, So communication, and high tempo is needed.
Player Questions:
1. How does body shape help you receive the ball in space?2. Can you read the pattern of play while it's happening?
3. Why is our first touch so important ? (Too dictate the direction of next pass)
4. If been marked can we disguise a run or a feint to lose our marker or to create space to receive the ball comfortably.
